A Brentwood auto accident involving a single vehicle sends a teenage girl to a local hospital. The incident took place on Saturday morning, April 24, 2010, at the corner of Route 111 and Apple Street.

According to Suffolk County police, the driver, 28-year-old Anthony Pulizzi, drove his Toyota sedan off the road and through a fence. Pulizzi had his girlfriend and his girlfriend's 13-year-old sister in the car at the time of the accident.

Rescue crews transported the 13-year-old victim to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she was treated for minor injuries. The girl, whose identity was not given, was released to her father. There were no other injuries reported.

Pulizzi faces charges that include driving while under the influence of drugs with a child passenger less than 16, as well as aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. He was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

The Brentwood accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Pulizzi is to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
